The government of the Netherlands is allocating 102 million euros as part of the first support package for Ukraine in 2024. This amount is part of the country's reserved aid of over 2 billion euros.
This first tranche of 102 million euros will be disbursed for the first 4 months of the next year to "help Ukraine survive the winter and prepare for spring," according to the press release.
"The ongoing war continues to damage Ukrainian society and the economy. Therefore, the needs remain as significant as before," the statement notes.
The new support package from the Netherlands includes:
- 15 million euros for humanitarian aid through the Ukrainian Humanitarian Fund (UHF) of the UN;
- 15 million euros for demining agricultural lands and liberated territories, including;
- 62 million euros to support the Ukrainian government in providing basic services, restoring critical infrastructure, and ensuring reforms through the Special Program for Ukraine and Moldova Recovery (SPUR), which is part of the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank;
- 10 million euros for supplies to the Ukrainian power grid.
