The number of people who died in the capital as a result of Monday's Russian attack has already risen to seven.
This was announced live on television by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenkoю
“In Kyiv, we are currently recovering the seventh body. Right here, in this five-story building, there are seven victims. And there is one more victim — a woman born in 1957 — in the city of Bila Tserkva. In Kyiv alone, over 30 people have been injured; in Kyiv region, eight people were wounded, including two rescuers,” he said.
The minister noted that 100 rescue service workers are currently working at the strike site in Kyiv, along with about 150 police officers — including 20 investigative teams and law enforcement officers maintaining public order and conducting apartment checks.
“We’re taking statements from residents. At this particular location, 25 apartment buildings and several dozen vehicles were damaged,” the Interior Minister added.
According to him, the missile — the type of which is still being determined — apparently struck the center of the five-story building.
“Emergency service workers and investigators are currently working at the scene. Once the missile fragments are recovered, we’ll be able to say with 100% certainty what kind of missile it was,” Klymenko said.
