The Russians tried to disrupt an online auction that sold drawings by British artist Banksy to raise money for Ukraine.
This was reported on the website of the charitable organization Legacy of War Foundation. While accepting applications for 50 Banksy prints worth £5,000, they recorded 3,500 fraudulent registrations from Russia.
"We are currently sifting through the registered entries and will notify successful applicants shortly. Thank you for your support. The site received over 1 million requests (and 3,500 hostile attacks from Russian IP addresses), so we would appreciate your patience at this time," says the message site.
On December 9, the artist posted a snapshot of his new work on Instagram. He said he would put up 50 such drawings for auction and send all the proceeds to help Ukraine.
The money should go towards purchasing ambulances, generators, gas heaters, and electrical equipment.
Recall that Banksy secretly arrived in Ukraine in the fall and created seven graffiti. He later posted a video from his trip on Instagram.
