Polish farmers continue to block the Ukrainian border, hardly letting trucks pass from Ukraine to Poland. This was reported by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, during a telethon.
"The situation remains unchanged. Polish farmers continue to block six border crossings, complicating the movement, especially for freight transport in both directions," he noted.
As of the morning, there are approximately 2200 trucks queued up at all six crossings. Most of them are near the "Krakovets", "Rava-Ruska", and "Yahodyn" checkpoints.
"We have seen significant decreases in the number of truck crossings, especially at the Shehyni checkpoint. In the past day, only 35 trucks crossed there, 24 of which were heading towards Ukraine. In fact, only about 1 truck was allowed through per hour. And 10 trucks went towards Poland, even fewer, less than 1 truck per hour," the spokesperson added.
Demchenko also mentioned critically low crossing rates at the "Yahodyn" checkpoint. About 70 trucks crossed towards Ukraine in the past day. However, Polish farmers are not allowing any trucks from Ukraine to pass towards Poland at all. As the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine explained, there have been zero crossings in recent days.
