The counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) detained another FSB agent in Donetsk region. He was adjusting Russian fire on the locations of Defense Forces in the Kramatorsk direction.

According to the case materials, the suspect was conducting reconnaissance near the camouflaged positions of Ukrainian forces.

If potential targets were identified, he transmitted coordinates to the Russian forces for fire strikes using guided bombs and missile weaponry.

The Russia's priority targets were defense strongholds, headquarters, and artillery positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Thanks to the prompt response from the SSU, the agent was exposed and documented at an early stage of his reconnaissance activities.

Simultaneously, comprehensive measures were taken to secure the positions of the Defense Forces in the relevant direction.

Later, SSU officers detained him at his home and seized his mobile phone, which he used to communicate with his Russian handler.

According to the investigation, in December 2024, the FSB recruited the suspect – a 41-year-old employee of an agricultural enterprise from a frontline settlement in the Kramatorsk district.

To collect intelligence, the traitor drove around the area in his personal car, monitoring the locations of Ukrainian defenders.

He sent the collected information from his phone to the FSB in the form of text messages and screenshots of Google Maps with "target" markings.

SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed during a state of war). The criminal is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
