Following another round of Russian strikes, even the part of Kupiansk that still had access to utilities has now lost centralized water supply.

This was reported by Oleg Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, during a TV broadcast.

"As a result of the shelling in Kupiansk, there is now a complete lack of water supply. It had been maintained only on the right bank. Utility services are on standby, but the security situation does not allow for restoration," Syniehubov stated.

According to Andrii Besiedin, head of the Kupiansk City Military Administration, the intensity of shelling and the use of FPV drones make it impossible to maintain essential services. Around 1,280 residents remain in the city.

  • As of early November 2024, centralized water was being supplied to approximately 40% of customers in Kupiansk.
  • In March this year, the city’s critical infrastructure also suffered heavy damage from Russian strikes.
