The State Bureau of Investigations conducted a large-scale special operation in the Odessa region

In the context of Russia’s military aggression, State Bureau of Investigations officers are constantly working to identify representatives of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups, collaborators, and other criminals who are hiding from justice. Employees of the Bureau regularly stop and prevent illegal activities of groups and criminal organizations that affect the criminogenic and defense situation in martial law.

Particular attention is paid to the Odessa region, as the enemy does not abandon plans to capture the region. For provocative work, the aggressor is trying to involve both law enforcement officers and residents – representatives of multiple diasporas. State Bureau of Investigations staff checks all the information that can be obtained as a result of operational and investigative measures.

This week, in the Odessa region, State Bureau of Investigations officers, together with the National Police of Ukraine, conducted a large-scale special operation. They checked for possible contacts with representatives of the invading country, more than 40 people involved in the criminal world. Most of them were interviewed using a polygraph for the accuracy of the information obtained.

As a result, three people were identified who may be involved in the activities of enemy sabotage groups. Criminal proceedings were instituted for treason (Part 1 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). All were handed over to the Security Service of Ukraine.

In addition, with the assistance of the State Migration Service of Ukraine in the Odessa region, materials were collected and six citizens of other states were deported from Ukraine, which could have somehow destabilized the situation in the region and detained a resident of Odesa who was wanted for murder.

During large-scale operational and investigative measures, 4 places of industrial cultivation of narcotic plants were also identified, more than 3,000 hemp bushes, and about 2 kg of dried finished products were seized. The potion’s value on the “black market” is over 16 million UAH.

According to this fact, 4 criminal proceedings were registered under Art. 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal production, manufacture, purchase, storage, transportation or shipment of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or analogs without sale).

It is important to note that only a few are hostile agents of the hundreds of people tested by the State Bureau of Investigations during the hot phase of the war. Even if they have problems with the law, most foreigners oppose the arrival of Russians in their cities.
