According to the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, four settlements in the region are currently under the control of Russian troops.
He shared this information on Facebook.
“As of today, the settlements of Novenke and Basivka in the Yunakivska community, as well as Veselivka and Zhuravka in the Khotinska community, are under enemy control,” he wrote. The official emphasized that residents of these villages were evacuated long ago, so there is no threat to the civilian population there.
At the same time, the Russian forces continues attempts to advance in order to create a so-called “buffer zone.”
“Fighting continues on the outskirts of the village of Vodolahy and near Volodymyrivka, Bilovodivka, Kostyantynivka, and Kindrativka in the Khotinska community, as well as on the outskirts of Loknya in the Yunakivska community,” Hryhorov added.
He stressed that the Ukrainian Defense Forces maintain control of the situation, delivering precise strikes on the Russian forces and preventing their advance deeper into Sumy region.
