From April 18 to 25, the third LGBTQIA+ film festival Sunny Bunny will take place in Kyiv. The programme of events will be announced at the beginning of April.

This is reported by the State Film Agency.

The organizers of the film festival traditionally give 100 free passes to Ukrainian soldiers as a thank you for the opportunity to hold cultural events. During the festival, military personnel can approach the accreditation desk at the "Zhovten" cinema, show a document confirming their service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and receive a pass.

"The festival, founded during the full-scale war, can take place thanks to the heroic Ukrainian military. So, after the popularity of our innovation last year, we continue this year to provide free passes to soldiers who are eager to discover the richness of queer cinema," said festival director Bohdan Zhuk.

Meanwhile, passes for all others are already on sale.

Earlier, the project was part of the international Molodist film festival, but since 2023, it has become an independent event. Last year, the event took place from April 19 to 26. The program included 60 films from 35 countries. Special screenings, panel discussions, and debates took place throughout the festival. On the last day of the festival, the awards ceremony for the second Sunny Bunny 2024 queer film festival took place. The event's honorary guests were representatives of the "Military LGBTQIA+" organization.
