The Ukrainian car-sharing service Getmancar is expanding into another country's market, as its franchise will be launched in Moldova starting from April. The car fleet will include electric vehicles.

Cars can be rented and returned after use in Chisinau. However, driving is permitted throughout the country except in the unrecognized Transnistria region.

The company already has 20 electric vehicles in its fleet. Private investors can also offer their cars for rent. Currently available brands include Renault Zoe, Honda MNV, Volkswagen ID.3, and BYD Dolphin. Additionally, they plan to add several cars with internal combustion engines.

Currently, the car-sharing service offers a daily tariff, with plans to introduce hourly and minute-based tariffs later. However, this hasn't been implemented yet due to insufficient electric charging stations in Chisinau, explained Taras Hetmanskyi, the company's CEO. Nevertheless, they anticipate at least 10,000 users within the first year of operation.

To rent a car from Getmancar in Moldova, users need to download the app from the App Store, Google Play, or Huawei AppGallery, register, and select a nearby car.

Getmancar is a Ukrainian car-sharing service founded in 2018. It operates in Kyiv, Dnipro, as well as in several regions in western Ukraine: Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, and Volyn. In June 2021, Getmancar allowed users to rent out their own cars, and in December, it launched the rental of electric cars. In December 2022, the service entered the Georgian market.

In December 2023, the company also introduced a car subscription service. The maximum duration of the subscription is 36 months, and after its completion, there is an option to purchase the car. In this case, the monthly subscription payments are credited as part of the car's purchase price.
