The Buntar-1 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) successfully completed its first combat flight under the control of Buntar Copilot software at a ground control station. This was announced by Ivan Kaunov, co-founder of the startup Finmap, which launched a company to produce reconnaissance drones.

The mission took place near Svatove in the Luhansk region, an area known for strong electronic warfare interference. Despite these conditions, Buntar-1 maintained a stable connection 98% of the time, compared to the usual 30% for other UAVs.

This experience will provide valuable data for further system improvements.

A series of new flights for Buntar-1 and other drones are planned for September.

“We are incredibly proud of our team. Starting as a small group of enthusiasts, we have grown into a strong team of over 40 talented professionals. This first flight is a testament to the hard work and dedication of every team member,” Kaunov wrote.

As a reminder, Ukraine has already contracted one million domestically-produced UAVs for the needs of the Defense Forces.
