As part of the "Weapon of Victory" initiative, the Ministry of Defense has signed contracts with 12 Ukrainian arms manufacturers worth nearly ₴130 billion. This was stated during an online meeting with representatives of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine by Gleb Kanievskyi, Director of the Procurement Policy Department, as reported by the Ministry of Defense's press service.
"In 2025, within the framework of the 'Weapon of Victory' initiative, the Ministry of Defense has signed contracts with 12 Ukrainian arms manufacturers totaling nearly ₴130 billion," the statement reads.
The main topic of discussion was the Ministry of Defense's procurement priorities for 2025, with special attention given to the "Weapon of Victory" programme – a mechanism for long-term contracts of three, five, or ten years with national producers of weapons and military equipment.
Kanievskyi specifically detailed the requirements for Ukrainian arms manufacturers wishing to join the "Weapon of Victory" list and sign long-term contracts. Key criteria include mandatory codification, the establishment of serial production, and achieving a localization level of at least 50%, among others.
"The 'Weapon of Victory' programme allows us to build long-term partnerships with Ukrainian producers. This is not only stability in supplies for the Armed Forces but also the development of the defense industry, job creation, and strengthening the economy in wartime conditions. Our task is to ensure predictability and stability in this process," emphasized Kanievskyi.
The meeting participants also discussed the priority procurement areas for 2025, improvements to the regulatory framework, and opportunities for expanding long-term contracting mechanisms.
