Prominent American historian Timothy Snyder has raised funds for the "Shahed Hunter" for Ukraine, UNITED24 reports on Telegram.
"Timothy Snyder's historic fundraiser for the 'Shahed Hunter' is closed! A Yale University professor raised $1,268,196 for a system to counter enemy drones. In total, 11,278 payments were transferred to this fund through UNITED24," the message says.
Snyder thanked everyone who joined the gathering. "History is being created around us, and each of us has our own roles, large or small, that we can play," the historian noted.
On November 2, 2022, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the outstanding historian Timothy Snyder became the ambassador of the UNITED24 fundraising platform and began collecting for the "catcher" of Iranian kamikaze drones "Shahed-136", with which Russia terrorizes Ukraine.
