The team of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine held a meeting with the Mixed Commission on Transport with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey. The result of the work is the continuation of the liberalization of freight transport. The "transport visa-free" regime, or liberalization of freight transport with Turkey, includes bilateral freight transport and transit transport.

"I am grateful to our Turkish colleagues for their constructive cooperation in developing the economies of both countries. The continuation of the liberalization of freight transport is an example of decision-making based on figures and real indicators regarding the positive impact on the market of bilateral transport. Of all the exports we deliver to Turkey, about 15% are transported by road. Turkish companies import nearly 60% of the total volume of goods to us by road transport," emphasized Vice Prime Minister for Reintegration - Minister of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov.

Thus, permits are not required for freight and transit transport. The agreements include permit-free passage for empty truck entry. The relevant decision is recorded in the meeting protocol.

In addition, it was possible to increase the number of permits for freight transport to/from third countries by one thousand - to 3500.

"We also pay significant attention to passenger transportation cooperation with Turkey. As part of the international bus transportation reform, we are verifying all bus routes to have an up-to-date network and allow businesses to open new ones. We are working on the possibilities of irregular transport operations - we have agreed on 400 permits for such trips. In the near future, some of these permits will be delivered to Ukraine for issuance to carriers," emphasized Deputy Minister of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure Serhiy Derkach.
