Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary is a Trojan horse that is undermining European unity and protecting Russia's interests.

"Today, Orban is the Trojan horse that is actively and, unfortunately, increasingly effectively undermining this unity and trying to show that we should ignore Ukraine," said Minister of European Affairs of the Czech Republic, Martin Dvořák, adding that Orban is blackmailing Europe and abusing the veto power.

During the European Council meeting, Orban left the room, allowing the summit to approve the start of negotiations with Ukraine. However, the prime minister blocked the review of the long-term EU budget, which provided about 50 billion euros for our country.

Orban is criticized for using the Ukrainian issue as a lever of influence and an attempt to unlock access to EU funds. Last week, the European Commission unlocked 10 billion euros after the publication of the Hungarian report on judicial reform. At the same time, another 21 billion euros remain frozen.

"I think the real name of Hungary's approach is blackmail. I think the real name is abuse of the veto power not to protect Hungary's national interests but to protect Russia's interests," the minister noted.
