During the World Economic Forum in Davos, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama to sign a long-term cooperation and support agreement between Ukraine and the Republic of Albania.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Albania has provided Ukraine with military and humanitarian aid and pledged to continue its support throughout the agreement's ten-year term.

Key elements of the agreement include Albania's contribution to the fighter jet coalition, specifically through language training for Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel. Additionally, both nations aim to deepen defense-industrial cooperation, including plans for joint production localized in Ukraine.

The agreement also covers economic partnerships, security collaboration, accountability for Russia’s actions, reparations for damages, sanctions against Russia, and joint efforts in Ukraine’s reconstruction.

Albania reaffirmed its support for Ukraine’s future membership in the EU and NATO, as well as Ukraine’s Peace Formula.

During the meeting, Zelenskyy and Rama discussed specific areas of defense support to strengthen Ukraine’s position on the battlefield and advance a just and lasting peace.

Both leaders emphasized their shared goal of achieving full membership in the European Union. President Zelenskyy also welcomed the recent opening of Albania’s Embassy in Ukraine, which took place during a visit by Albania’s Foreign Minister last week.
