First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Serhiy Boiev, and the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, Yuji Tokita, discussed further steps to deepen security cooperation between the two countries.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The Japanese delegation expressed gratitude to Ukraine for participating in the international defense and military equipment exhibition DSEI Japan 2025. According to the ambassador, such events and bilateral dialogues contribute to strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Japan.
Boiev, in turn, emphasized that alongside Ukraine’s priority of establishing defense cooperation, humanitarian and financial support remains crucial.
"We are interested in mutually beneficial cooperation and open to proposals. Japan demonstrates a high level of technological development — this could be key to deeper engagement," the First Deputy Minister of Defense highlighted.
The Japanese side also expressed interest in exchanging experience with Ukraine on various issues, particularly in the field of innovative developments.
Boiev stressed that Japan’s support for Ukraine once again confirms that the Pacific and European regions are united:
"We face common threats, and our response must be united."
