The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Vitalii Koval, held negotiations with Anna Bjerde, Managing Director for Operations at the World Bank.

The Minister thanked the World Bank for its consistent support of Ukraine, particularly in the agricultural sector. He also outlined Ukraine’s top priorities: the restoration of livestock farming, the development of frontline regions, and the modernization of irrigation systems.

The parties agreed to expand cooperation in three areas:

  • Preparation of analytical data to support decision-making in the agro-industrial sector.
  • Institutional support for the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, with a focus on integration into EU policies and standards.
  • Programs for over 200,000 small and medium-sized farmers as the foundation of Ukraine’s agricultural resilience.

“Our goal is not only to preserve but also to transform Ukrainian agriculture in line with EU norms and opportunities. The advocacy platform currently supported by the World Bank team in Vienna is, in fact, the key to faster and more successful European integration,” emphasized Vitalii Koval.
