In the early hours of May 15, starting from midnight, Russia launched a large-scale drone assault against Ukraine, deploying 110 strike UAVs—primarily Shahed drones—and decoy drones of various types. The drones were launched from multiple directions, including Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, and Millerovo in Russia.

Ukraine’s air defense forces, including aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups, responded to the attack.

By 8:00 AM, Ukrainian defense forces confirmed the downing of 62 Shahed strike drones and other UAVs over eastern, northern, western, and central regions of the country.

An additional 29 decoy drones were lost in untraceable locations but did not result in damage or casualties.

The attack caused damage in several regions: Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Kyiv, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
