Ukraine expands sanctions on the Rosatom group

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine included more than 700 individuals and legal entities related to the Russian state corporation Rosatom to the list of persons subject to personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions).

The relevant order was adopted today at the Government meeting at the proposal of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

As Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko noted in his post on Facebook, Renat Karchaa, adviser to the general director of FSUE “NO RAO (DK “Rosatom”), was also included in the list. It was he who acted as a guide to the Zaporizhia NPP occupied by Russian troops yesterday during the visit of the IAEA mission to the station.

“Today – a guide at the station, and tomorrow – you have sanctions. Yesterday, the whole world watched as he conducted a “tour” for the IAEA mission at the nuclear power plant, misinforming at every step. And today, he is already a sanctioned person, whom no one will shake hands with now,” Herman Galushchenko said.

The minister stressed: “Everyone whose hands are waging this murderous war against Ukraine must pay the price!”

Rosatom State Corporation is one of the key subjects of the Russian economy and a lever of influence and pressure in matters of the foreign policy of the aggressor state.
