The Ukrainian government has approved a list of 22 scientific and technical developments to be created for state needs for the first time.
This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
This decision marks a shift in the approach to funding and organizing scientific activities in the country. Previously, researchers independently determined the focus of their studies, whereas now the state defines specific technical tasks aimed at addressing urgent issues and advancing key industries.
The developments will not be limited to theoretical findings or research papers but will result in practical technologies for defense, medicine, energy, agriculture, and environmental recovery.
Key Focus Areas:
- Enhancing national security
- Energy development: Technologies for hydrogen fuel production.
- Agriculture: Mitigating the effects of warfare on agricultural lands.
- Medical technology development: Innovative methods for diagnosing and treating cancer, as well as rehabilitation medicine based on AI.
- Ecology: Addressing the consequences of the Kakhovka HPP disaster and the destruction of the Kakhovka Reservoir.
- Digitalization and AI
Funding and Timeline:
More than 186 million UAH has been allocated for these projects. Researchers will have two years to complete the developments, ensuring they are ready for practical application.
