Ukraine has provided Qatar with a list of the names of 561 children who were illegally taken by Russian forces to Russia.

This information was reported by Telegram by Dmytro Lubinets, authorized representative of the Verkhovna Rada on human rights.

"We have provided Qatar with a list of 561 Ukrainian children, which is already in the hands of the Russian side!" - wrote Lubinets.

According to him, there have been several results of negotiations in Qatar over the past two days.

The return of a group of Ukrainian children home is expected. Details are not disclosed at the moment.

A list of 561 abducted Ukrainian children has been provided to Qatar. It is already being processed by the Russian side.

The issue of returning the so-called "status" children was discussed: orphans and children deprived of parental care.

"We emphasized that legally there is no difference between biological parents and adoptive or custodial parents. Therefore, Russia is obliged to return children regardless of their status. Qatar has also agreed to accept the first list of orphaned children and children deprived of parental care and to work on the issue of their return to Ukraine. According to our data, there may be over 3600 such children," added Lubinets.

Qatar has agreed to participate in negotiations with Russia on the return of civilians who were illegally detained by Russia.

"The issue of returning home civilians illegally detained by Russia is constantly in the focus of our work on the international community," the ombudsman noted.

Lubinets also once again refuted Russian propaganda regarding negotiations on the return of children.

"We conduct negotiations through Qatar as an intermediary; there have been no direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia," he emphasized.

Deportation of Ukrainian children:

Since the full-scale invasion by Russia, Ukrainian children have been regularly deported to Crimea, Belarus, or remote areas of Russia.

The International Criminal Court in The Hague has issued an arrest warrant for dictator Vladimir Putin and Russia's children's rights commissioner, Maria Lvova-Belova, for the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children.
