Ukraine is working on establishing an "industrial" visa-free agreement with the European Union. Efforts are also underway to ensure the country's inclusion in the EU's "Roaming like at Home" policy.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal after a meeting on sectoral cooperation with the EU in 2025.
"We are working on establishing the 'industrial' visa-free agreement and ensuring Ukraine's participation in the EU's 'Roaming like at Home' policy. We are moving confidently. We have agreed on preparations and bringing the necessary draft decisions to the government," said Shmyhal.
According to him, the meeting also heard reports from government officials regarding the priority directions and tasks facing the ministries.
A key focus is continuing work on "trade" and "transport" visa-free agreements.
"We are working with the European Commission to make these agreements permanent," emphasized the Prime Minister.
Ministers also coordinated the necessary measures to integrate Ukraine into the EU energy market and discussed implementing a set of measures for the development of transport corridors within the TEN-T network in 2025.
"Each ministry has clear tasks, assigned responsibilities, and deadlines for implementation," said Shmyhal.
It is worth noting that back in 2020, Ukraine and the EU agreed to sign the ACCA Agreement (the so-called "industrial visa-free" agreement) for certain types of products with added value. This includes electrical equipment, machinery, and mechanisms.
In the same year, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on providing construction products in the market. This document brings Ukraine closer to implementing the "industrial visa-free" agreement with the European Union.
