In January-July of the current year, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises increased revenue from the export of ferrous metals by 8% compared to the same period last year, reaching $1.75 billion.

According to statistics released by the State Customs Service on Friday, ferrous metals accounted for 7.73% of the total export revenue for this period, compared to 7.44% in January-July 2023.

In July, revenue from the export of ferrous metals amounted to $285.516 million, up from $246.040 million in the previous month.

During the same seven months, Ukraine increased imports of similar products by 21.8% to $875.262 million, with imports in July totaling $141.632 million.

Additionally, for January-July 2024, Ukraine reduced exports of metal products by 1.2% to $554.166 million, with July's exports at $77.108 million.

Imports of metal products during this period grew by 41.2% to $611.305 million, with July imports at $85.344 million.

As reported earlier, Ukrainian metal enterprises reduced revenue from the export of ferrous metals by 41.59% in 2023 compared to 2022, totaling $2.648 billion. Ferrous metals accounted for 7.32% of the total export revenue, down from 10.26% in 2022. Meanwhile, Ukraine increased imports of similar products by 37% to $1.307 billion in 2023.

Furthermore, last year Ukraine reduced exports of metal products by 16.6% compared to the previous year, totaling $877.916 million, while imports of metal products increased by 40.3% to $902.565 million.

In 2022, Ukraine reduced revenue from ferrous metal exports by 67.5% compared to 2021, reaching $4.533 billion. Ferrous metals accounted for 10.26% of total export revenue, down from 20.49% in 2021. Simultaneously, Ukraine reduced imports of similar products by 38.3% to $954.387 million.

Additionally, in 2022, Ukraine reduced exports of metal products by 18.6% to $1.052 billion, while imports of metal products decreased by 42.9% to $643.162 million.
