Throughout 2025, the demining units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine cleared 66,267 hectares of liberated territories contaminated with explosive devices as a result of Russia’s armed aggression.
In particular, safety was restored to:
- 62,270.98 hectares of agricultural land
- 204.66 km of roads
- 71.46 hectares of water bodies
- 274.38 km of railways
- 21.76 km of pipelines
- 86.32 km of power lines
In addition, demining specialists detected and destroyed 63,535 explosive devices (480,412 since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion).
During the year, the number of certified demining operators increased by 60, reaching 132 as of December 31, 2025.
According to the Law of Ukraine “On Demining Activities in Ukraine,” only certified demining operators are involved in humanitarian demining.
According to the Main Directorate for Demining, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service are engaged by the Ministry of Defense in clearing de-occupied territories of explosive devices.
