As part of its oversight function, the National Bank of Ukraine, following a monitoring of activities in 2024, has identified a list of critical payment infrastructure objects in Ukraine.
The only systemically important payment system, as in previous years, is the National Bank of Ukraine's Electronic Payment System (EPS).
Five payment systems have been classified as important, namely:
- MasterCard, MasterCard International Incorporated, USA;
- Visa, Visa International Service Association, USA;
- PrivatMoney, PJSC PrivatBank, Ukraine;
- NovaPay, LLC NovaPay, Ukraine;
- Financial World, LLC Ukrainian Payment System, Ukraine.
Additionally, based on the results of 2024, three important payment service technology operators have been identified: LLC ACI DCI Processing, JSC Ukrainian Processing Center, and LLC TAS Link.
The regulator categorizes payment infrastructure objects according to their importance based on international practice to enhance their reliability and efficiency, as well as to align their operations with international oversight standards.
Increased requirements have been set for important oversight objects regarding operational continuity, management and organization of activities, risk management systems, and more.
