The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to protect Ukrainian airspace from Russian forces, requires various air defense systems and missiles for them, as well as aviation missiles.

This was stated by the spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ilya Yevlash, commenting on the needs of the Air Force to protect Ukrainian airspace during the nationwide telethon United News.

"If we talk about support, first of all, we need installations and missiles for them, because missiles are consumables, and, as we see, over the past month, the enemy has been quite actively trying to conduct combined attacks using various types of weapons - including cruise, guided missiles, hypersonic, including using a large number of 'Shahid' drones. Of course, each missile defense system - whether it's Gepard, NASAMS, or Patriot - has to perform its specific function. These installations need to cover each other because quite often the enemy tries to attack with various cheaper means that are quite difficult to destroy using certain systems. The enemy tries to hit installations like Patriot, but of course, when this system works in conjunction with installations like Gepard, which are Shahed killers, of course, our air defense system becomes much more effective.

"In addition, of course, we need missiles for MANPADS of various types, as they are used both on the front line in the fight against enemy aircraft and drones and during repelling air attacks by mobile fire groups. Therefore, mainly, if we talk about installations, these are Patriot and missiles for them. Well, of course, we also need missiles for our aviation - these are cruise missiles, Storm Shadow, SCALP, maybe Taurus if they are transferred to us. And various aviation missiles," Yevlash informed.

The spokesperson for the Air Force thanked the partners for their support in the fight against the Russian aggression.
