Even during the war, Ukrainian organic producers maintain significant positions in product exports. Interest in domestic organic products is confirmed by exhibitions such as BioFach and Anuga.

This was stated by Yevhen Mykolanov, Chairman of the Federation of Organic Movement of Ukraine, during the conference “Organic Agricultural Production: Education and Science.”

“Ukrainian freeze-dried ice cream with blueberries from the Panfruit brand made it into the top 10 at the Anuga Taste Innovation Show, which showcases innovative products from around the world. In my presence, representatives from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the USA, and Middle Eastern countries were ready to sign contracts,” noted Yevhen Mykolanov.

Organic products are also important in the context of EU accession and the implementation of the Green Deal, said Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Taras Vysotskyi.

“These are value-added products: they yield more results per limited land resource. There is a trend and commitment to increase production of such sustainable products. However, this requires specific knowledge. Many professional institutions are ready to train specialists specifically in organic production,” added Taras Vysotskyi.

According to the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, 293 operators are registered in the organic products market in Ukraine, along with 97 certification bodies.
