The KibOrg hacker team breached the database of the Russian Union of Auto Insurers, which collaborates with major insurance companies in Russia, including Rosgosstrakh, Tinkoff Insurance, Sberbank Insurance, AlfaStrakhovanie, and others.
Ukrainian hackers obtained over 1.5 TB of personal data of Russian drivers and their vehicles, including Kremlin propagandists. The union was established in August 2002 and is responsible for maintaining a unified database of OSAGO policies, where all member insurers are required to submit data on each contract and insurance case, as well as all related information about the rightful user, vehicle parameters, and more, as reported by KibOrg.
The KibOrg team gained access to the RSA database for the past 15 years. It contains billions of records, with a total size exceeding 1.5 TB. The RSA database includes data such as full names, date of birth, driver's license information, passport details, car make and model, VIN code, license plate, and some car characteristics.
For example, Vladimir Solovyov owns a Mercedes-Benz S-Klasse with license plate "С400СС77RUS." The database contains information on three S-Klasse vehicles with identical license plates — from 2010, 2013, and 2018. In addition, Solovyov has several Mercedes-Benz minibusses for escorting: Viano from 2013, Vito from 2015, and V-Klasse from 2020.
Among the vehicles, presumably acquired for collection purposes, are a rare Rolls-Royce Silver Spur from 1960, Porsche 911 from 2005, BMW Z3 from 1996, and Jeep Wrangler from 2007, with a Mercedes-Benz R-Klasse from 2006.
Interestingly, even during the full-scale war with Ukraine and after the introduction of international sanctions against propagandists, Solovyov acquired at least three more vehicles — two Mercedes-Benz V-Klasse minibusses and a Toyota Granvia. Both were manufactured in 2022 and registered in Solovyov's name in October and November of the same year, as well as a Mitsubishi Pajero from 2019. It was purchased in January 2023.
Unlike his colleague, Dmitry Kiselyov cannot boast of a large car fleet. In his possessions, the he has several motorcycles, including a BMW F650GS from 2004 and DUCATI HY PERMOTARD 796 from 2012, as well as a couple of Land Rovers from 2002, one of which, apparently, was burnt by partisans in Crimea. His wife Maria owns a Range Rover Evoque from 2016, which Dmitry has permission to use.
President of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov, like his fellow citizens, favors the German automotive industry. Although Sokolov does not own any cars himself, he has numerous permits for their use. For example, his son Maxim owns three cars: a Mercedes-Benz V-Klasse, a BMW Z4 2019 convertible, and a BMW 840 from 2020.
Dmitry Pronin, director of "Moskvich," only owns a Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse from 2008. However, he also has permission to drive a Mercedes-Benz GLK-Klasse, which belongs to his wife.
