Ukrainian manufacturers this year provide 70% of the value of contracts for supplying weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klymenkov.
He noted that this share can change depending on needs and production capabilities.
Specifically, the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is carried out by the 'Defense Procurement Agency.' The Agency has already signed more than 20 contracts with global weapons manufacturers from 10 countries, mainly from Europe and the USA.
The head of the Agency, Maryna Bezrukova, emphasized that the Agency contracts only weapons that have been codified by the Ministry of Defense.
'My advice to manufacturers: provide your products to the military, collect feedback. Equipment that has high demand on the battlefield undergoes codification and gets listed much faster,' she said.
Regarding the delivery times of equipment to combat units, the head of the Agency explained that it depends on the supply and logistics conditions. For example, purchased DJI Mavic UAVs quickly reach the front, while the production of new equipment takes more time.
