The device, created by scientists at Sumy State University at the request of a Czech company, has no analogs in the world but holds great practical significance. Polymer products are widely used in various fields: industry, household applications, construction, and so on. The group of scientists worked for almost five years on the creation of this innovative semi-industrial installation. The invented technology is protected by an international patent. This is not the first project created for the Czech company.

The device is capable of improving the properties of polymer materials by applying nanotubes to the surface of the raw material granules.

The device consists of units whose functions involve the deagglomeration of nanotubes and a reactor for applying nanomaterials.

Preliminary applied research was conducted to study the possibilities of modification and the mechanical and electrical properties of polymer materials made from the modified raw materials. The results demonstrated that polymers modified with nanomaterials become stronger and more resistant to external influences, and their operational properties significantly improve, particularly in terms of increased resistance to ultraviolet radiation, impact toughness, and improved antistatic properties.

The development and manufacture of the semi-industrial installation were carried out at the Department of Applied Materials Science and Technology of Construction Materials in the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy-Efficient Technologies.

The control scheme for the scientific novelty was developed by specialists from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technologies, particularly from the Department of Computerized Control Systems.

The installation was created using the original ideas of the university scientists, which were previously confirmed by applied research.
