In March, the young winery 46 Parallel Wine Group exported its wines to the African continent: another batch of Apostrophe and 46 Parallel wines was shipped to Nigeria.
Since entering the Ukrainian market, the company has announced ambitious plans to become a business card of Ukraine on the wine map of the world and aimed at export orientation. 46 Parallel Wine Group began negotiations with the African side in 2020. At the same time, the first supply contracts were signed, and, despite the quarantine, the first wines were exported on the shelves of African stores. Thanks to the high quality of wines, Ukrainian winemakers received another order from Nigerian partners and once again successfully sold their products to African consumers.
In recent years, Nigeria has become a surprisingly promising market, where the share of imported alcohol has increased several times. In 2021, profits in the “wine” segment are estimated by experts at USD 465 million. The market is expected to grow by 15.32% annually. Given that Nigerians mainly consume still table and sparkling wines, preferring red wines, 46 Parallel Wine Group will introduce the red wine to the African wine market.
Nigeria is one of the most populous countries in Africa, whose alcohol market is developing dynamically. That is why it is important for us not only to be represented in the African market, but also to gain the trust of African consumers and build stable relationships with distribution partners.Anna Gorkun, CEO and founder of 46 Parallel Wine Group
The company is currently negotiating with European and Middle Eastern countries for export supplies.
46 Parallel Wine Group is a Ukrainian wine company that creates wines of high European quality, worthy of being a business card of Ukraine in world markets. The wines are made exclusively from Ukrainian grapes, which are born on the 46th parallel – in Kherson, Nikolaev and Odessa regions. The company is represented by two brands: the premium – 46 Parallel and the modern, emotional brand Apostrophe. The 46 Parallel brand includes two limited collections: classic and vintage Grand Admiral author’s wines and exquisite light premium wines – El Capitan.
Today, the company is actively introducing a trend for quality Ukrainian wine, as evidenced by its digital orientation and recognition of experts: since the company’s presentation in February 2020, 46 Parallel Wine Group wins have won more than 30 awards at many national and international tasting competitions. The company became the absolute record holder in the number of medals of the International Tasting Competition Wine & Spirits Ukraine Awards, winning 10 awards at the same time, also at the Wine Guide 2020 competition, where the company’s wines won 7 awards, and in September El Capitan Pinot Gris – the only wine from Ukraine – received medal of the prestigious International Tasting Competition Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2020.
