On the final day of the World Cup in para biathlon, which took place in the extreme cold (18-20 degrees below zero) in Vuokatti, Finland, Ukrainian para biathletes secured 5 high awards in the pursuit race: 2 golds, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze. This performance solidified Ukraine's top global position in para biathlon with 15 medals—6 golds, 6 silvers, and 3 bronzes, along with 1 podium finish on December 14 by Ukrainian athletes with visual impairments:

  • Oleksandr Kazik (guide Serhiy Kucheriavyi) - NS1 - visual impairment - Gold
  • Dmytro Suiarko (guide Oleksandr Nikonyvych) - NS3 - visual impairment - Silver
  • Anatolii Kovalevskyi (guide Oleksandr Mukshyn) - NS3 - visual impairment - Bronze.

 

The winners of the final competition day:

  • Taras Rad' - LW12 - sitting class - Gold
  • Yaroslav Reshetynskyi (guide Dmytro Drahun) - NS3 - visual impairment class - Gold
  • Maksym Murashkovskyi (guide Vitalii Trush) - NS3 - visual impairment class - Silver
  • Oleksandra Kononova - LW8 - standing class - Silver
  • Serhii Romaniuk - LW8 - standing class - Bronze.

 

n the World Cup competition, which took place from December 12 to December 15, athletes from 16 countries participated. The Ukrainian team was represented by 28 athletes with disabilities, 11 of whom won high awards. Among them were 4 para biathletes with gold medals.

The most successful athletes from the Ukrainian team were:

  • Taras Rad' – 2 gold medals
  • Oleksandr Kazik – 2 gold medals
  • Serhii Romaniuk – 1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
