Ukroboronprom has established a Veterans Reintegration Center, which will provide employment, organize training, retraining, and offer physical and psychological rehabilitation services.
The decision was approved by the supervisory board of the State Concern Ukrainian Defense Industry.
"The Center's task is not just the usual employment of veterans and the involvement of military personnel with combat experience in enterprises, but systematic work," the announcement said.
The work will be aimed at comprehensive support and adaptation of veterans to civilian life.
It is noted that the Center will be involved in:
- preparing enterprises for the return of veterans to work;
- organizing training for managers and workers;
- retraining and skills upgrading for veterans (as needed).
The programmes for psychological and physical recovery are also provided.
A patronage direction will be created to interact with mobilized employees and their families, providing them with informational, consulting, legal, psychological, and other support through their own resources and partnerships with state institutions and civil organizations.
Special attention will be paid to inclusivity in the workplace, improving understanding, and creating proper corporate culture.
To achieve this, the Veterans Center will work with teams where former military personnel are employed, as noted in Ukroboronprom.
"Our veterans will continue to feel connected to the defense and the fight against Russian invaders, as they did before. Their combat experience will undoubtedly be useful in product development, manufacturing, or repair. I am confident that people who have been through war will strengthen the Ukrainian defense team," said Herman Smetanin, Director General of Ukroboronprom.
As of today, over 500 veterans of the Russo-Ukrainian war are employed in the campaign, while more than 1600 armament specialists are defending Ukraine as part of the Armed Forces.
