According to the United Nations, over 14.6 million people in Ukraine will need humanitarian assistance this year, representing 40% of the country's population.

This information was reported on the UN website.

The UN emphasized that 6.3 million Ukrainians who have left the country also require assistance.

"In addition to the violence, Ukraine is currently facing the harsh winter. Continuing a large-scale humanitarian operation is an urgent need today more than ever," the organization stated.

It is noted that next Monday, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), will present this year's response plans for Ukraine, Ukrainian refugees, and the countries hosting them in Geneva.

The UNHCR is concerned about many Ukrainian refugees lacking necessary support. The UN welcomes the European Union's decision to extend temporary protection measures for Ukrainian refugees until March 2025, while emphasizing that efforts should prioritize the integration of displaced persons into the national systems of host countries.
