As a result of a strike by Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces on a command post and deployment sites of special forces from Russia’s 14th Brigade of Military Intelligence (GRU) in the occupied settlement of Berdianske, Donetsk region, 51 Russian personnel were killed and another 74 were wounded.
This was reported on Facebook by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi.
“More than 120 special forces soldiers of Russia’s 14th GRU Special Purpose Brigade were eliminated or severely wounded as a result of a planned operation carried out during the night of December 26 by UAV units of the 1st Operational Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces in the settlement of Berdianske, temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region, according to confirmed operational data,” the post reads.
According to Brovdi, as a result of the reconnaissance and strike operation against the command post and troop deployment areas of the Russian forces:
- 51 killed,
- 74 wounded,
- an unspecified number missing in action.
The 14th Separate GRU Special Purpose Brigade is a special unit based in Ussuriysk (Russia), tasked with reconnaissance and special operations for Russia’s military intelligence.
