The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has increased its forecast for wheat production in Ukraine for the 2026/27 marketing year.
This is stated in the department’s July report.
Ukraine’s wheat harvest is expected to reach 24 million tonnes, which is 0.5 million tonnes higher than the forecast published last month.
Ukrainian wheat exports in the current season are projected at 13.5 million tonnes (+0.5 million tonnes).
The outlook for corn production in Ukraine remains unchanged at 30 million tonnes, with exports forecast at 23 million tonnes.
Barley forecasts also remain at last month’s levels — production of up to 5.5 million tonnes and exports of up to 2.3 million tonnes.
At the same time, the USDA forecasts global wheat production for this season at 820 million tonnes (almost unchanged), with exports at 214.46 million tonnes (+0.1 million tonnes).
Global corn production is expected to reach 1.297 billion tonnes (-3.3 million tonnes), while exports are projected at 212.5 million tonnes (+4.2 million tonnes).
Global barley production is forecast at 155 million tonnes (+0.15 million tonnes), while trade is expected to reach nearly 29.6 million tonnes (-0.2 million tonnes).
