The project of delivery of humanitarian aid from Germany to Ukraine "Railway Bridge" is serviced by electric locomotives Vectron MS manufactured by Siemens. They feature a special design with a yellow and blue flag and the inscription #WeStandWithUkraine. Currently, a model of such a locomotive has been created on the H0 scale, part of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to help Ukrainian refugees.
The German carrier DB Cargo together with the model shop (Menzels Lokschuppen & Töff Töff) decided to release a limited series of locomotive Vectron, which delivers aid to Ukraine. For each locomotive sold, the company will transfer 100 euros to the Deutsche Bahn Foundation bank account to support and provide targeted assistance to refugees. Prices for the model start at 299 euros.
“100 euros for each locomotive model sold will be donated to the Deutsche Bahn Foundation, which supports people fleeing the war and provides targeted assistance. Deutsche Bahn has created a logistics network to deliver aid from Germany directly to Ukraine. To achieve this goal, the logistics teams of DB Cargo, DB Schenker, and DB Transa-Spedition work hand in hand. Urgently needed goods such as food, drinking water, warm clothes, sanitary ware, and medical supplies are delivered directly to the country by a freight train over the DB railway bridge,†- the message says.
Pre-sale of locomotive models has started now and will last until May 31, 2022. Delivery of the ordered models is expected to begin in October 2022. Production is limited to 1.5 thousand pieces.
Deutsche Bahn also delivers humanitarian goods to Ukraine.
