In the spring of next year, the Ukrainian publishing house Vivat will release the novel 'Greek Lessons' by South Korean author Han Kang.
This was announced by Vivat's CEO Yulia Orlova on Facebook.
'We have a very exclusive announcement. We are publishing a book by this year's Nobel Prize laureate in literature, Han Kang,' wrote Orlova.
On October 10, South Korean writer Han Kang received one of the most prestigious awards 'for her intense poetic prose that confronts historical traumas and reveals the fragility of human life.'
Vivat is working on the Ukrainian translation of 'Greek Lessons,' which is expected to be available for sale in spring 2025, and editing is currently underway.
Orlova noted,
'As the book's release approaches, I will explain why we focused on it. For now, I can say that it's a story of two people who come together in a moment of suffering and pain — a man who is losing his sight meets a woman who has lost her voice.'
The Nobel Prize in Literature is one of the most prestigious awards given annually to authors for their outstanding contributions to literature. Interestingly, many Nobel laureates have already been translated into Ukrainian and occupy an important place on the shelves of our bookstores.
