Filmar is a web encyclopedia of films that were shot in Odessa.

Since the invention of the "moving pictures", Odessa was a city of powerful film production and an important cultural centre. One of the brightest film periods in Odessa history were the 20th - the years of VUFKU activities. The prominent films of this time will launch the work of Filmar. The site covers the collection of archive materials, modern reviews and studies of Ukrainian film critics, moreover, Filmar created an interactive filming location map. It will help you find the original shooting places and in the literally step in the shoes of the cult film-makers, such as Dovzhenko, Vertov, Eisenstein, and others.

Their goal is to tell the little-known stories about the film-makers that worked in Odesa. To attract attention to films, some of which have already been lost. To inspire contemporary film-makers to continue shooting in Odesa. And to show the city how it was before, the city we should now preserve.
