On September 18, Yulia Svyrydenko, Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, met with an Italian delegation led by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa. One of the main topics of the meeting was the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC-2025), which will take place in Italy in 2025.

The meeting was also attended by Italy's Special Envoy for the Reconstruction and Resilience of Ukraine, Davide La Cecilia, and the Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Ukraine, Stefano Moser.

Yulia Svyrydenko thanked the Italian delegation for their significant support and for agreeing to co-organize the upcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference.

“URC-2025 will be the fourth such conference since the full-scale invasion. URC is one of the most effective tools for consolidating international support for Ukraine's recovery efforts. At the last URC in Berlin, we achieved concrete results—participating countries were able to synchronize their vision for Ukraine’s reconstruction, and the total value of projects and international agreements reached over 16 billion euros,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.

She added that the Ukrainian government has already established an organizing committee for URC-2025 and is prepared to work with Italian colleagues on organizing the future conference.

The Ukrainian side emphasized the need for closer coordination with the multi-donor coordination platform, active participation of the Business Advisory Council, which was established at URC-2024, and the involvement of Ukrainian companies in the conference events, among other aspects.

One of the key tasks for preparing for URC-2025 will be to expand initiatives launched in Berlin, such as the SME Alliance and Skills Alliance, and to present specific results from their implementation.

The meeting participants also discussed attracting investors to Ukraine's recovery projects. The government invited Italian companies to explore investment opportunities and expand their presence in priority economic sectors.

Additionally, the Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to the Italian Export Credit Agency SACE for providing technical assistance to the Ukrainian Export Credit Agency (ECA). Ukraine looks forward to further developing cooperation between the two countries' ECA, including continued financial support for the Ukrainian ECA.
