Yulia Svyrydenko: Ukraine has reached pre-war levels of exports

In April, Ukraine exported a record volume of products. As reported by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, last month's exports amounted to over 13 million tons, surpassing the figures from February 2022. In monetary terms, exports reached $3.3 billion.

"The measures to restore and increase exports, implemented by the Government of Ukraine together with our international partners, are yielding excellent results. As of April, we have recorded the highest export volume since the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine - 13.1 million tons. This is 1.3 million tons more than in March and more than Ukraine exported in February 2022. We continue to work on increasing export volumes, primarily non-raw materials, as it is an important component of our 'Made in Ukraine' policy. Along with increasing production volumes and attracting investments in the real sector, this will contribute to the development of the economy," noted Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy, the opening of an alternative maritime corridor last summer, allowing Ukraine to export grain and metal, has influenced the growth of export indicators. Additionally, the UNITY ship insurance program, created jointly with the British government and a pool of insurance companies, contributes to the realization of Ukraine's export potential. Expansion of the capacity of Solidarity Lines, primarily with Moldova and Romania, as well as improvements in the conditions for transporting goods by rail to Danube ports, have positively affected exports.

Recall that on March 1 in London, during a visit to the United Kingdom by a Ukrainian delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, it was announced the expansion of the UNITY Affordable Ship Insurance Program, implemented by Marsh McLennan and Lloyd’s of London in cooperation with the government of Ukraine. The program allows for the insurance not only of maritime transportation of grain and other essential foodstuffs but also of ships carrying all non-military cargoes, including metal, and insurance is available for container shipments as well.
