Zelensky proposed to the port operator champion of the United Arab Emirates to build a modern harbour for yachts with a hotel in Odessa and take the port in concession.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, during his travel to UAE, met with Sultan Ahmed bin Sulaim, Chief Executive Officer of DP World, one of the world's largest port operators. The meeting took place in Dubai on the artificial island Dubai Maritime City.

In a conversation with the Sultan, Zelensky spoke about the concession law, thanks to which other foreign investors already work in two Ukrainian ports. He announced that the State could contribute in every way to such a project.

Therefore, today we invite DP World to enter the Ukrainian market more through such concessions. We have four more ports that the company can enter. Second, to build a marina together with a company that is engaged in similar projects

It is worth noting that there are already four small yacht clubs and marinas in Odessa:

• "Sosnovy Bereg" near Cape Severny Odesskiy.
• Close to the seaport, on Otrada beach.
• At the 8th station of Bolshoi Fontan.
• And a yacht club in the village of Sauvignon.

Zelensky also added that Ukraine had just adopted a law on inland waterway transport, and against this background, he invited DP World to enter the Ukrainian river transport market.

“I think this is an attractive business in Ukraine. And we are talking not only about tourism, but above all about the transportation of goods,” the President said.

The Chief Executive Officer of DP World, in turn, noted that the company already has extensive experience in the development of river transport in other countries, which is indeed the cheapest mode of transport.

UAE and Ukraine signed contracts for $ 3 billion. In Dubai, the tallest building in the world was highlighted with the colours of Ukraine's flag.
