The Russian army has once again deployed North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region, leading to new assaults in the area. Hundreds of Russian and North Korean troops have been eliminated.
President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the situation in his evening speech, stating:
"There have been new assaults in the Kursk operation areas: the Russian army... and they have once again brought in North Korean soldiers. A significant number of occupiers have been eliminated—hundreds of Russian and North Korean troops," Zelensky said.
He emphasized that these battles are taking place on Russian territory to prevent increased pressure on Ukrainian cities.
"And on our territory, on the front line, there are 60,000 Russian troops in the Kursk region. These 60,000 have not been added to the already substantial occupying forces in the Pokrovsk and other directions in Donetsk region. I am grateful to all our warriors for their resilience, to every brigade for their results," the president noted.
President Volodymyr Zelensky aslo stated that drones are the technological foundation of modern warfare and Ukrainians must lead in this field.
"Today, I met with commanders of unmanned systems units. They are among the best, and their expertise will be scaled up. These are the people shaping a new doctrine of technological defense for Ukraine. Decisions have been made, drones are being produced and supplied, and their role must grow to increasingly prevent Russian assaults. The Ukrainian state will spare no resources for this because it means saving the lives of our people," Zelensky said.
