In Kyiv, Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb. According to Zelenskyy, the discussion focused on the Russian drone attack on Poland, the need to increase pressure on Russia, and support for Ukraine’s path toward EU membership.

The president said they had “a substantive discussion on a wide range of issues.”

“Significant attention was given to yesterday’s Russian attack on Poland. Everything indicates that the launch of Russian drones into Polish territory through the airspace of Ukraine and Belarus was deliberate and by no means accidental,” Zelenskyy stated.

He expressed concern that Russia retains the capacity to continue and expand its aggression.

“Decisive actions are needed—not only from Europe—a strong pressure that truly limits Russia’s potential to escalate the war,” Zelenskyy said.

He thanked Finland for supporting all sanctions, Ukraine’s EU path and the opening of clusters, as well as for participating in the “shelter coalition.”
