The vehicle traffic management module of the logistics port system DocPort will be launched in May in test mode at the port of Odessa.
This was reported by Vyacheslav Kharkavenko, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), according to the press service of USPA.
He noted that this platform is already operational in the Danube ports and the port of Chornomorsk. The system allows participants in the transportation process to plan arrivals more efficiently, simplifies the pass issuance procedure, increases throughput, and speeds up cargo handling.
"The entities of DocPort include government bodies authorized to carry out the relevant types of control in the seaport, port operators, maritime agents, as well as companies and organizations engaged in the transportation and handling of cargo, containers, and vehicles both within the port and beyond its boundaries," explained Vyacheslav Kharkavenko.

He also announced that in June, the implementation of the 'Marine Window' module, as part of DocPort, will begin. Its functionality is designed in accordance with the standards of the International Maritime Organization and involves transitioning from paper documentation to electronic data exchange between vessels and shore services.
"This will significantly reduce the time for border and customs formalities during vessel arrivals and departures, shorten the time for cargo operations and vessel processing in ports, and contribute to an increase in cargo handling intensity and the attraction of additional cargo," concluded USPA.
