Members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (ACC) oppose the significant increase in railway freight transportation costs to the Chornomorsk port terminals, initiated by JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." This was reported by ACC.
It is noted that after the adoption of the JSC Ukrzaliznytsia order on January 14, 2025, No. 13, and the resumption of freight rail traffic along the Znamianka—Pomychnya—Kolosivka route, the tariff distances between transit points were reduced only for certain final stations, with the exception of stations in the direction of Chornomorsk port.
"As a result of this policy by JSC 'Ukrzaliznytsia,' freight flows are being redirected in favor of other ports, leading to negative economic consequences for the region, reducing investment attractiveness, and creating a risk of losing market share," ACC noted.
Thus, experts from ACC member companies emphasized the urgent need to resolve this issue, as well as to ensure a transparent and effective approach to determining tariff distances for all ports, and the equal and competitive functioning of port logistics in Ukraine.
