In September 2025, the company YM Liquid Gas LLC exported Ukrainian-produced liquefied biomethane (bio-LNG) for the first time, ExPro reported.
The company exports its own liquefied biomethane to Germany, where the buyer is Cyprus-based Preture Liquid Gas. According to YouControl, this company is also the founder of YM Biogas Company, meaning both belong to the same corporate group.
The biomethane is exported using road tankers. Analysts estimate that the company exported nearly 60 tons of liquefied biomethane between September and October.
YM Liquid Gas produces biomethane from biogas at its own biogas plant in the Vinnytsia region — the Yuzef-Mykolayiv Biogas Plant. The biogas is generated from sugar beet pulp and broiler chicken manure.
Thus, YM Liquid Gas has become the second Ukrainian company to export bio-LNG and the fourth to export biomethane from Ukraine.
According to the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine, as of mid-2025, four biomethane facilities were operating in the country with a total capacity of 41 million cubic meters per year, three of which already supply biomethane commercially to the gas system. By the end of 2025, producers plan to launch additional facilities with a combined capacity of up to 70 million cubic meters per year, bringing the total to 111 million cubic meters annually.
