Russia’s Black Sea Fleet has been placed on heightened combat readiness.
The ATESH partisan movement reported this on Telegram.
“ATESH agents among military personnel and headquarters officers report that the Black Sea Fleet command has issued orders to military units to significantly increase the frequency of patrols in the Black Sea. Personnel have been instructed to intensify training to counter threats from the sea and to practise coordination between UAV operators, air defence units, electronic warfare teams and patrol boat crews,” the post said.
According to the partisans, the Russian Black Sea Fleet command expects Ukraine’s Defence Forces to step up their activity ahead of the anniversary of the attack on the Crimean Bridge on October 8, 2022.
“The fleet fears that new large-scale attacks could be timed to coincide with this date. This does not necessarily mean another strike on the bridge itself, but could involve combined attacks on Russian Black Sea Fleet vessels at their bases, logistics routes and vessels of the ‘shadow fleet’,” ATESH said.
