In Zaporizhzhia, as a result of Russian airstrikes on the evening of March 21, three people were confirmed dead, according to updated data. Fires broke out in several locations within the city, including at a kindergarten and an apartment building.
The State Emergency Service (SES) reported that by 9:10 p.m., two victims and four injured individuals were known. Emergency workers later revealed that they had extinguished fires at a restaurant covering 70 sq.m., a country house, a kindergarten, and an apartment on the 7th floor of a nine-story building, covering 30 sq.m.
It was also noted that one private home was destroyed, and two others were damaged. Neighboring buildings were affected by the blast wave and debris. The head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported that the wounded continued to seek medical assistance, with injuries including burns, mine-explosive trauma, and concussion. Among the injured was a nine-month-old infant.
"One woman is in critical condition. Six people are in serious condition. A total of nine injured individuals have sought medical help," Fedorov wrote.
He added that the Russian attack claimed two lives, including a 14-year-old girl.
Russian forces attacked the city with 12 Shahed drones.
At 1:08 a.m. on March 22, SES reported that the death toll had risen to three, with 12 individuals injured. Search and rescue operations in the city have been completed.
"Three people have died, and 12 people have been injured. The number of casualties is being updated," stated the emergency service.
A total of 63 rescuers and 16 units of equipment were involved in the operation, the SES added.
